In the shadowy streets of Seattle, an ancient evil awakens, hunting a woman who doesn’t yet know her destiny. Llia Ridley’s world shatters when supernatural forces target her, leaving a trail of bodies and unanswered questions.

Enter the Yokai Executioners — Reo and TJ — two warriors carrying the weight of a devastating past. Survivors of a brutal conflict that decimated their order, they are humanity’s last defense against an otherworldly threat.

With time running out and darkness closing in, Llia must confront a destiny she never chose. The Yokai Executioners are her only hope — but can they stop an enemy older than time itself?

“When fighting a curse, the battle is never ending!”

A pulse-pounding supernatural thriller that blends Japanese mythology with urban suspense.

I really enjoyed this book, it was a joy to read. I especially loved the dialog between the characters. Their personalities were great. The action, suspense, and thrills really shown through in every page, with a satisfying ending; not a lot of books get that right. Pre-order for book 2 is secured, can’t wait!

I watch a lot of anime and I love action horror supernatural thriller movies. When I was reading this book it was I was watching a movie. It great, and it had Japanese Mythology blended with charismatic characters. My favorite was TJ. I love to see the characters evolve as the story progresses and I was not disappointed. I actually read this book twice. The first edition and the second and I loved it!

Really great story, I loved the Japanese lore that was infused into plot. The creatures used in this story were interesting and I loved learning about them. We always get warewolves, vampire, and classic monsters, this was a delightful change. I the characters were believable and charismatic. The plot is fresh, read it from cover to cover in one sitting without being bored one time. Get this book!

I loved this story and its characters. As I was reading, I became so immersed in this book that I forgot I was reading. It was like I was actually there. Llia is a badass. She is not over the top or all powerful, not better than anyone else in this world. She is perfectly balanced and relatable. I like when I can feel characters’ pain and anxiety in a story. The Japanese Mythology is seamlessly integrated in this story; granted I know nothing about their mythology, but I didn’t have to in order to enjoy this story. It was a joy learning about it as I read. I recommend this book if you love action, supernatural creatures, suspense, thrills, and great realistic characters with a solid plot.

“The fight scenes alone are worth the price of admission – visceral, cinematic, and heart-pounding. But it’s the characters that truly shine, especially the friendship between the roommates that provides lighter moments amid the darkness. A phenomenal debut that promises an exciting series!”

  6. Jessica

“I picked this up expecting standard urban fantasy but found something much more special. The novel explores themes of cultural identity, family legacy, and belonging while delivering pulse-pounding action. The blend of Japanese and American settings creates a unique cross-cultural adventure.”

This book was awesome. The story is unique, and it’s really action-packed. I was hooked from start to finish. And, get this, one of my favorite characters has my name—so cool! Grab this one and have a great trip!
